The Devotional

Papa “J” says

All of us have a place of commitment in life, and we each know where it is! The problem; if there is one, is that our jeans drag the ground and metal objects hang from our face...

How bad is it mama? Bad son, it's bad! How bad is it papa? Well, it's so bad son that I've sold your inheritance! You see we were a faithful people, but our friends and relatives played with harlotry and idolatry. Instead of living with honor we've chosen to protect the murderer. All our silver and gold looks good to the eye but scrape away the outer layer of dross and there is that distinct smell of cow manure. Even if you have a glass of wine someone has deluded it with water. Our government officials are so corrupt that we've become a scandal to other nations. Our politicians keep company with thieves, and they work hard for the one who gives bribes. They make promises of reward, not for us, but to the foreigner and the alien. So your mama and me have nothing son and your in big trouble! POOR ISRAEL! Well they never learn? Isaiah 1:21-24. Are you not just so thankful that we live in the land of the FREE? Notice Isaiah 2:5-9.

The Gospel of John

John 1:1 It is my hope and prayer that if you do not know Jesus, that through the study of this book of the Bible you will get to know Him, personally! Several people send me messages that read the blog side of this ministry. I believe that many of them are not saved so this study is directed to them. Yet, this does not mean for those of us who know Jesus personally to goof off, there will be many blessings for us as well.

I praise God for giving me a desire to like words, this desire has developed into a love for the Word of God. I truly hope that we might all fall in love with the Word of God, if you do then you have fallen in love with the Creator of the World, Jesus Himself. Now what can be greater than that? Well, I am so glad you asked! The only thing better is spending eternity with someone you love.

Here in the very first verse we are challenged to think. God forbid! Think? For many of us that is a hard thing to do any time of day. Well then, wait until you've had your first cup of coffee, then try again. What does John mean? “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.” God is One, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Think about this and tomorrow we'll add to it.
