The Devotional

Papa “J” says

Ever dig a well by hand? Abraham did! Ever get water to flow from a rock? Moses did? Ever hewed out a tomb from solid rock? Joseph did! Ever Rise again? Jesus did!

The life stories of people who are called by God seem to have fallen by the wayside. Men like Dawson Trotman and Bill Bright their women and children. These are not the success stories of business men who claim to be men of God but are really serving themselves by the working of false miracles while fleecing the pockets of the weak and ignorant believers. These are men who like the prophets and evangelist of times past challenged people to see the mercy and grace of God. Men who understood the love of God, like the apostle John who wrote. “God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect” NIV. Bill Bright made this statement. “I have tired to keep my heart as an eternal flame of passion for God and His purposes.” Can this be said of any one of us these days? Well, we may get all fired up emotionally, but did we follow through with a commitment of giving ourselves to God with eagerness of heart and a sincere love as the goal or plan of our every day? This is a question only you can answer! God knows your heart.

The Third Epistle of John

3 John 9-12 There are many voices that flow with Christian dialogue. The chatter is so convincing within the various churches that it is hard to determine what is truth and what is error. This is a serious danger that cripples the weak believer and keeps the unbeliever from ever knowing the truth. The sad thing is that men of God today, know these people and do nothing about them, and this is a blight within the churches who have lost their fist love.

Not so with the apostle John, who knows Diotrephes, the who maligns and contents with the people of God to gain preeminence. There are many in the churches today who reject the events of the church of the past and accept New Age thinking. Men like Hanun who listened to the princes of Ammon who dishonored the comforters that David sent to Hanun after his father died. 2 Samuel 10:1-19.

We need to heed the voices of the apostles and the men who devote their lives to the teaching of Truth. Do not speak what is good and evil out of the same mouth and in the same sentence. He or she that does this has yet to experience the grace and mercy of God. Be like the people of truth who live a life of passion for God, this is the good testimony of a faithful witness for Christ. When you hear the words of truth you also know that the testimony is true and are able to bear witness.
