Don't be a fool, mother nature does not exist. It even pains my fingers to type those two words side by each! “In the beginning God” Now those words are truth and type well. Genesis 1:1
In a small space like a submarine, a room of ten cubic feet can hold millions of dollars of various equipments. One unique thing about the budget of a ship is that many of these items can be purchased without using the ship's budget. So I would encourage the various shipboard divisions and departments to try and purchase items without using funds belonging to the ship. Government stock numbers begin with a two digit cognizant code. The codes that have an odd number to begin with will be paid for by the ship and the codes that begin with an even number will be paid for by some government appropriation other than ship's funding. One time the Missile Department on one of the subs, ordered a four wheeled cargo carrier. On the request form, the Missile Tech, identified the item as a “dolly cart”, since the cognizant symbol began with the number two, I did not think to much about the eighteen thousand dollars of cost. But I curious of why a cart could cost so much, so I looked the item up. It was a four passenger Jeep! The sailor and his buddies thought it would be nice to have for picking up dollies when out on the town. It lurks in the heart of every man, even sailors! Who, would-da thought???
Psalm 23
Psalm 23 There are a lot of commentaries written about this Psalm of David. In addition to the commentaries, books of prayer, encouragement and direction can also be connected to this Psalm. It is mostly all good, and I believe that we can never get to much of the Word of God as long as people who expound the scriptures are seeking to share the truth as God the Holy Spirit moves them. I hope to spend some time in this Psalm and may the LORD bless us, too.
Psalm 23:1 How often I have wanted something. Think about it! We want our children to grow up loving God. We want good things out of life, we want, we want and then when that is not enough we want some more. We never seem to obtain or be satisfied with what we want. Well now; why is that? Here in this verse it is plain to see that if God is our Shepherd, I shall not want! Must be something missing... James 4:1-6 may be a good place to start the search.
Family squabbles and fights seem to be normal operation in homes today. The personal bent of each of us wanting it our way. It takes a strong man or woman of God to overcome the temptations that pull the household apart. It also takes the strong will of God the Holy Spirit to help us recognize that we lack nothing, since our Shepherd Jesus meets all our needs. Even in rebellion God will meet our needs, Psalm 78:1-72; Isaiah 40:11 and Psalm 34:9-10. More tomorrow.
