A Look at the Book #140
The Devotional
Papa “J” says
Who is it that finds a home in your heart? There are three. Jesus, the devil and you. Interesting thought! A worldly heart is cluttered, while the Word filled heart is in order. Luke 15:8-10
The Sistine Chapel has the painting of Michelangelo on the ceiling. Only $4.3 million to refurbish it. Over ninety nine percent of the world's population cannot afford a overhead ceiling so valuable to look at, yet God in every corner of the world paints a daily picture over our head of bright blues, grays and brilliant whites. He also displays a star-spangled heaven. A priceless view of our Creator's love, an expression of His gift of grace. It is the Light of Jesus that can lead us to understand the love of the Father. Where does one find the Light of Jesus? Glad you asked! The Light of Jesus Christ the Son of God is found on every page of the Holy Bible. Beautiful Words and Picture stories of the one who is the testimony of Creation and the testimony of Scripture. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus! Sweet Name, Sweet Word! Psalm 19:1-14 and 1 John 5:11-13.
A Look at the Psalms
Psalm 2:1-3 If we were to give this Psalm a title, I could think of two possibles: “The King and His Kingdom is coming” for the New Testament believer, or “The Messiah's Triumph and His Kingdom is coming” if a Jew. If you are interested in the coming of the LORD, the Psalms are full of the expectation that Messiah is coming. The Jew looks for the Messiah to come as a First Advent, while the New Testament Believer looks for King Jesus to return in the Second Advent.
All nations and peoples have lost sight of the coming of the LORD. Right now nations rage in secular humanism and most people plot out a vain way of life. Governments and the rulers of the world take counsel together developing plans to eliminate the Word of God and God from the world around them. Yes this has gone on since time began, but in these days we would be like the ostrich with heads in the sand to not recognize the intensity of the vain hearts around us and the rage that governs us.
The day is on the horizon when it will not be okay to speak about God, to look at a Holy Bible, to pray openly, to teach our children about God, to; to; to; and to openly worship God. Our bond of fellowship with God and the people of God will be broken, the cords of righteousness will be severed. Some say this will happen soon. Are you strong enough to endure the tribulation of this, or do you expect that God will deliver you. Yes He will deliver you from His wrath, but not before we feel the wrath of the world's rage to subdue Messiah Jesus. This is the comfort of 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11
