A Look at the Book #133
The Devotional
Papa “J” says
There are many “gases” in the world around us. Propane and butane for example; but two young men found out that there is another gas just as deadly called “profane” This is found in Leviticus 10:1-2 NKJV
Sometimes it simply boggles the mind of why people will call 911. A few days ago, shortly after midnight a call went out to go to the local nursing home to assist someone with a faulty pacemaker. Since the individual has a defibrillator installed too it is mandatory that a paramedic is called as well. This means that both the ambulance, the EMT's and the paramedic will charge medicare in total $900.00 for the call. Basically the person waited all day for their brother to bring them a bottle of Coke. The brother failed to bring it and the individual in revenge, went to the hospital complaining of a faulty pacemaker that did not show to be malfunctioning. In other words their pacemaker was in pace rhythm the whole time. As it turned out the person was mad at the brother and knew that by going to the hospital they could get a bottle of Coke from one of the nurses. But there are those real medical emergencies, the patient I had before that call was having a real heart attack, a myocardial infraction, the sudden loss of blood to some part of the heart. (MI). It is necessary then to treat all peoples as patients and let God deal with the good and evil.
1 Corinthians
1 Corinthians 15:55-58 This for me has been a wonderful chapter to explore> What I thought would be an easy walk because I like the chapter, turned out to be a challenge and hopefully this allowed all of us to grow a little more mature in our relationship with the LORD. In these final verses we find some very comforting words. I hear people talk about their fears of death and it makes me want to explain to them that it would be better to have a fear of God, because He has the answer to eternal life. The fact is that in the heavenly dictionary the word “death” is not found.
What are some of the words that we would not find in that heavenly dictionary? Sting, sin and Hades. It might be interesting to note that the earthly dictionary defines Hades as the home of the dead. I like that definition since the definition of Heaven is just the opposite. Stating; Heaven is the home of God, His angels and where the blessed of the earth go. So in Heaven the sting and the sin are removed and replaced by the word “victory”, simply put. The struggle is OVER!
Jesus is the Truth, Jesus is the Victory, He came from glory, to His created world. He came to save the wretched sinner of whom I am. I heard about His mourning, His blood atoning and by His grace I repented of my sins and Jesus brought me victory. O victory in Jesus, my Savior forever. He looked for me, He purchased me with His redemption blood. He even loved me before I knew Him. Romans 5:8 and 1 John 5:4 If you do not have this assurance, you can by simply trusting in His Words. John 11:25-26 and John 14:6
