The Devotional
Papa “J” says
A loch can be a lake, or an arm of the sea. Meaning that most or all of the water is surrounded by land. A bondage of sin around the soul is much the same.
The horror of the morning was over and about noon a Japanese plane flew over Pearl Harbor to assess the damage, but just before this time the USS Curtiss, a destroyer sank a midget two man Japanese submarine. It was armed with two torpedoes, but it also had an explosive compartment so that the sub could be used as a torpedo itself. It was raised from the mud and found to be wrecked beyond any useful examination. Also a new pier was being constructed at Submarine Base and material for fill was needed. A military funeral ceremony preceded the burial. Then the battered little boat – became a coffin for its crew of two and was cemented into the foundations of the new pier.
1 Corinthians
1 Corinthians 15:24-28 The end is coming is a very bold statement in scripture, yet it is ignored as if it were some sort of incurable cancer. We should however notice these words of the apostle, not in the sense of fear of the end. But more in the light of what is going to be a very glorious moment for all who are “In Christ” or the coming resurrection. When the end comes, Christ will gather His kingdom from every tribe, tongue and nation. Then this temporary kingdom will be transformed and presented to His, and our eternal Father.
So while we live in a world where the enemies of God exist, the body of Christ will reign in the churches of those that are His and in the hearts of just persons made perfect. He will reign in spite of what we see and hear these days of our lives. As each of the these enemies are defeated, the last enemy, the most powerful enemy, “death” will be destroyed. Once this is completed in accordance with Acts 1:7-8 all things will be purged under the completed work of Christ.
We are moving into passages that have confused people, made religions and created cults. How do we clear these concerns for those who are lost in this quagmire of confusion. First, it is impossible for any human to clear any of this confusion in a word. However it is not impossible for the God-Man, the second Adam; Christ Jesus the LORD. Since, through the gospel He sets the prisoner free, heals the broken-hearted and refreshes the soul of the thirsty. Thus, we will call on Him to do just that until the “last call” of the trumpet is sounded!
