Papa “J” Says
Ever watch the sun rise? Of course you have, or ever feel the fresh breeze of the morning air? Yes, that would be true too! Ever feel the presence of Light from the LORD's countenance in troubling times? If not, Psalm 4:1-8 will help!
With the Bible, a concordance and a good dictionary you can go on a search. Somewhat like a prospector looking for precious metals or gems. God never fails to reveal truth and I like the way David puts his knowledge of revelation in Psalm 19:7-11. In these verses of this Psalm, he takes a survey of the wisdom and knowledge of God available to him. David states some very important attributes of the Word of God. The Law of creation is so perfect that it alone is powerful enough to convert the soul of mankind. The testimony, (it is impossible for God to lie) is enough to make the simple become wise. The commandment of the LORD is so pure, that it will give light to the darkened eyes of the natural man. These three attributes identify our God. God the Father, the Creator. God the Son, the Testimony. God the Holy Spirit, the Truth. Matthew 28:19-20. Once we have these attributes in our soul, our fear of the LORD will be cleaned up and we will know the purity and justice of His judgments. Our desire for God will be stronger than our desire for gold and our love for Him will be sweet. This year; Seek the LORD and He will be found.
1 Corinthians
1 Corinthians 12:12-13 If you look at what some would call the universal church today, you will find something that may resemble the rotting veges in a salad bowl! In any given city throughout the world, you will find every religion under the sun, many of which are members of the United Council of Churches. To most God fearing people and some who are not, this is an ugly picture, so if God were to take a look at this human effort of religion, His visual must be that of one disgusting abomination.
Most long standing religions have their doctrines and isms about spiritual things and if you are inclined to study them, you will find that the pendulum is either to the far side of involvement of spiritual matters or to the other, where there is little to no involvement with spirituality. It is my hope that God will help us here in this study to see that we are; as believers in Christ, created in Him to do good works as Ephesians 2:8-9 exhorts.
1 Corinthians 12:14 Now I also realize that this is my interpretation of spiritual things, but I believe that I have the Spirit of God motivating me to say these things. If we belong to a church and I hope we do, then we are members of that local body. The desire to participate in spiritual things should be strong in us, but not to the point of claiming to be spiritually endowed with a need of the church if the Spirit of God has not called you to meet that need. More later!
