A Look at the Book #106
by Jesse Abel
The Devotional Papa “J” Says It is a season of giving and how we fail to see that God gives physical life to the soul which is eternal. While He monitors our soul and we abuse the gift! We must remember; It is the soul that returns to Him with the results! Proverbs 24:12 Have you considered how alive the Word of God is. One way to see the vitality and spiritual power of the Bible is to observe a person who is in love with God. Their eyes reveal life, abundant life. (John 10:10) Their heart may sorrow, but it becomes joyful (John 16:20). They may lack wisdom at times but the Spirit will provide the wisdom when needed (John 16:13-15) and they always seem to know the will of God (John 7:17). Folks who know Jesus Christ may stumble from time to time, that is because they live in the flesh and in the Spirit and these two beings in one flesh war against each other. Even though the command of God says to walk in the Spirit, and not carry out the deeds of the flesh, we fail to protect the gift of life given to us by God, and our soul becomes tarnished with sin. (Galatians 5:16-18) We seem so eager to forget that God; owns our soul. He has given us a physical life of flesh and for those saved He has given us the Life continuing Spirit. He looks for us who are saved to crucify our physical life and lay hold of the Spiritual Life and those who are Christ's will strive to do that. (Galatians 5:24). 1 Corinthians 10:23-33 1 Corinthians 10:23-33 It is comforting to know that all things we do, “in Christ” are lawful for us to do. But we must be knowledgeable that all the things available for us cannot be good at various times. Some of the things we do in our walk before the LORD, actually offend other believers who may be struggling with something we feel at liberty to do. Therefore it would be scriptural and wise to avoid these things. Also, the method we do things in Christ may be okay for us, but it may be offensive to another who does what we do, only does it differently. For and example; In a worship service, one may hold up their hands as they feel the Holy Spirit comfort them, another may weep or shout. We need to be aware that, how we worship is between God and the person. Our only input to another person's worship is to worship God in Spirit and in Truth. (John 4:24) In Ephesians 5:1 the apostle states that we are to be followers of God as dear children. We imitate our parents all the time. We look like them too. We we are to be all things to all people as God has called us to be. Then we need to take on the characteristics of our Savior. You are the light of Christ to those who are rescued out of darkness, don't be a stumbling block to them, just because you have the liberty to do what may offend them. Do not seek your own profit, that is of “one” seek the profit of many. Hebrews 9:27-28.
