What in the World is Going On?
Lesson #7
One World Government
Biblical and Secular History – an overview
It does not take much of a search in the records of history to see the force of power available to any nation on the planet. In the search we find it is the power of the national leaders that form these nations to react to the good and evil forces that move the peoples of this earth in one direction or the other.
If you look just forty years back in the history of the United States you will find a more peaceful nation, but no one knew or suspected that we were on the brink of change, and if you look just another ten years back, after WWII you will see America's finest hour.
Today people talk about the national condition of change in the United States. Can these people be right? Are we losing our ability to uphold the Constitution. Are we a country governed: “By the people and for the people”? Is there an “axis of Evil” that circles &ldquo
ivine good” If there is any truth to seek out in these questions, then where do we start to find the answers? Onward is the search, but there is really no need to search when the answer is in the Bible. There are millions of homes in the USA and most of them have a Bible. The problem – no one reads them and the direction of life runs everywhere.
Here is quote from Elwood McQuaid who writes articles for Israel my Glory, a magazine published by the Friends of Israel Ministry in the July/August 2009 issue.
Focused on the last verse of scripture of the book of Judges, Judges 21:25 he writes: “In the current cultural context, the verse calls attention to the words of President Barack H. Obama when he startled many by proclaiming in a speech in April in Ankar, Turkey, that America is no longer a Christian nation but “a nation of citizens who are bound by ideals and a set of values.” By whose ideals and (what) set of values? If we are no longer bound by historic Judeo-Christian fundamentals of governance, by what are we bound? We certainly cannot say we have common values if we are merely a nation of citizens with communal and personal differences regarding what constitutes right and wrong”. Italics added.
We can take this another step further. The United States of America is not the only nation of peoples affected by the axis of evil that circles Divine good. All nations have a remnant of men and women who live under the banner of; “Faith in God” We do not just believe this, we know it is true, so if it is true that good exist in a nation, then we would be neglecting our responsibility as citizens to ignore the evil.
We have studied extensively of the world dynasties of the past and the future, we have talked about the coming one world government and the now we will look at that “one” who will be empowered to rule this one world government. A person who the Bible calls the one who is opposed in every way to Jesus Christ. The bible calls him the Antichrist, the world will call him, “The Leader” and some will believe he is the Messiah. He will seem at the beginning as the “pillar of good” with the “axis of evil” world revolving around him. Before we do look at him we must take a good look at the “Banner of Faith” as I think it is important.
As we have studied in the past; there is only One God therefore there is only on belief in God that is approved by God to allow mankind to approach the Throne of God. To approach the Throne of Grace, one must have the banner in the soul's hand. It is not the white flag of surrender, but it is the white flag of a cleanse soul by the blood of Jesus Christ to all those who believe – to the Jew first and also to the gentile. Romans 3:27-31
No one would deny that there is this interlude in the Word of God called the church. It is referred to as the Church of God, Acts 20:28, the Church of the Living God, 1 Timothy 3:15 and the church of Jesus Christ, Matthew 16:18. This interlude in the Word of God must be removed in order for the events of God's war against evil to continue and end in victory at the advent of the return of the Messiah who is Jesus Christ.
These things are hard to believe and seem out of touch with reality. How do we in one moment of time lose massive numbers of people and plummet the remaining world into a system of governance that sets up the scenario a renewed Roman Empire with the strength of evil that the world has yet to experience. First we have nothing to do with it – God does! We do not do learn anything by slicing and dicing scripture to fit our belief, but we do exercise faith in God and the Word of God. Hebrews 11:6, even Hebrews 11:8 helps us that Abraham did not know exactly where he was going but that he obeyed God and moved by faith. So we follow God and He will unfold each step as we go. Now a look at the Antichrist.
His personality:
He will be believable with pompous words, full of pretentious words that apply to his self-important, appointed existence. Daniel 7:8, 20 and 25. In Revelation 13:5 he is given a tongue to speak believable blasphemies. In other words he will be given an orators tongue to speak like the dictators of the past that have ruled nations, only this tongue will rule all nations.
He will be a leader of nations, Daniel 7:8 reveals another aspect of his ability. If you substitute kings for horns you will have the knowledge that Daniel has that the horns represent the national leaders of the earth who will cave in as he elevates himself to a position to control the entire western world. He will do this by stealth Daniel 11:21.
He will promote a religious following by attracting nations of people to believe that he is God in the flesh. He will speak believable words against the God of Creation. He will oppose God at every opportunity and even in the new temple in Jerusalem, he will sit in the Holiest Place and attempt to exalt himself as God. 2 Thessalonians 2:4. And he will seem for a time to be successful as explained in Revelation 13:8.
He will be a very cruel leader: Daniel 7:23 explains that he will have no remorse while trampling the leaders and nations of the world under his feet. He will be especially cruel to those who hold to faith in God, martyred during the tribulation for their faith. Persecution will rule the day for any person who does not worship the Antichrist. We must remember that Christ is God and to deny the Antichrist is to worship Christ who is the coming Messiah. Thus cruelty to all who reject this man is a major occupation for the people who follow him.
His Profile:
Revelation 13:1 reveals that he will rise up from the masses of people to a political power that surpasses every leader on the planet. He will gradually assume power in that he shall accomplish this by stealth as mentioned earlier.
His Nationality:
Most believe he can be a Jew or be of Jewish decent since he makes a treaty of peace with the Jewish nation. Daniel 9:27, such as Pilate during the life of Jesus.
His Spirituality:
He will have spiritual ability since he will receive power from the bottomless pit Revelation 11:7. In other words he is bound for hell and will promote unrighteousness as righteousness.
His Providential Existence:
Revelation 13:5, he is given a mouth to speak, authority to rule for 42 months and he is given power. All of this is not done without the knowledge of God. To the world it is a movement of devilish stealth, to God it is allowed to develop. Good and evil has always co-existed in the world, now at this time evil looks like the way of the future, but God at the appointed time will remove the Antichrist and evil and God will replace this world, with the world identified in scripture as the new heavens and earth where righteousness dwells. God will do this after the world in which we now live experiences the Righteous Millennial Reign of the Messiah Jesus when evil is put to sleep for that one thousand year period of time.
