Daily Notes #11

A Devotional Study of the Living Word of God
Psalm 119:91 The The faithfulness of God our Creator is for most us, like being lost in the forest! We have become so familiar with the tree of knowledge of good and evil, that we have lost our way as servants of God who is our Tree of Life!
Good Morning
Batman and the Joker, Superman and Luther and a host of other comics that portray good verses evil. If you are over fifty you remember the books, the plots and you may even have a few stored somewhere in the attic or basement. Good verses evil a paradox of two opposing forces. These are not imaginary conditions of the mind, these are the real time events of our daily life. If we look in the first few chapters of the book of beginnings – Genesis, we will find that good and evil existed before man was created. Genesis 1:11 The fruit tress were created and began yielding mature fruit. This is the third day of Creation. Genesis 1:26 God created man on the sixth day. Good and evil, we poke fun at this condition, we write books about it, watch thousands of movies on this subject, warn our children about the hazards of good and evil. We take inappropriate peeks at it, laugh at it, cry over it! But we never look at it from a biblical perspective. The truth is; that the only thing on anyone's mind at any given time is: “good and evil”. Now you don't have to take my word for it, just read the bible. It really does amaze me, the most published book in the world is the Word of God, yet it sit on the shelf gathering dust, while the owners spend time and life avoiding it. In John 21:25 the apostle says that Jesus did more to show us that the way of life was the Tree of Life. John goes on to say that the world could not contain the books if everything about the things that Jesus did were written. You should believe that statement for elsewhere in the bible you will find these words, “In the volume of the book, it is written of me to do Thy will O God” Hebrews 10:7 a quote from Psalm 40: 6-8. Jesus did not do good and evil, He only the will of the Father.
Romans 1
Romans 1:20 The verse states clearly that there is no excuse for anyone to reject the eternal power and Godhead. That the things of creation do not change or chase us from a clear and personal view of His invisible attributes. If this being true then why do we reject? Our choice; the tree of the knowledge of good and evil is more appealing to us than the Tree of Life. Like, who wants to understand about Life when there is some much evil to overcome with good deeds.
Romans 1:21 So just to know of God under the conditions of doing good alone is not enough because the presence of evil is there too, to distract. The more we are distracted the more our thinking becomes foolish and the more futile life becomes. Our thanksgivings to God become clouded over and soon we are cursing Him. Ungrateful, unholy, unloving and full of the noise and distractions of good and evil.
Romans 1:22 We make religion a profession and say we have the answer, we claim to be wise on the subject and gather people to follow. Sometimes our persuasive talk carry large numbers of followers. We promote good, challenge various evil activities. Belch out cries of woe for those who practice public harm and crime. But where has all of this religion taken us. No where! Still the foolishness in our hearts continue and the darkness of evil is present. How do we get beyond this? Like the prophet Jeremiah, we are imprisoned, but God continues to speak like He did for Jeremiah. “Call unto Me and I will answer thee and show you great and mighty things that you do not know.” Jeremiah 33:3. Try calling out to Him and He will guide you to the Tree of Life and you will find rest for your soul.
