Daily Notes #2
A Devotional Study of the Living Word of God
Psalm 119:82 Hope; for the troubled saint of God our eyes will seek Word of God for comfort in the soul, yet the weary heart says, “when LORD will you comfort me?” There are seasons to weep, but there will also be a season for laughter. Ecclesiastes 3:4 and 11.
Good Morning
Some people have negative things to say about the bible. They call it mystical, a book of lies, ancient writings, and host of other characteristics that are simply false. Most of these people acquire this nonsense from relatives as they grew up. Others who are searching for meaning in life obtain these thoughts from the erroneousness observations of friends or various religions they've come in contact with. Yet, when you really get to know the people who hold these views you will find that they all hold this statement of unbelief in this one objection. “Who knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.” Romans 1:32. The saints of God know these people very well, they are your neighbor, maybe a parent, your boss, a close friend, maybe someone you even go to church with or sit next to in church. These are the people of Romans 1:18-31. If you have the Holy Spirit dwelling in you, then you are always exhorted from scripture to recognize the work of God, to esteem for love's sake those brothers and sisters around you, to be at peace, to warn the unruly, to comfort the faint hearted, to lift up the weak, to be patient with all, to enjoy the LORD, to pray always, to give thanks always, listen to prophecy and test the work. To hold fast to that which is good and abstain from evil conduct of the world around you. If we are not doing this, then we are willing quenching the work of the Spirit of God in us. 2 Thessalonians 5:12-21. The unbeliever cannot read the bible, because it reads them. The saint who is lazy in being a good steward over their spiritual house has forgotten that they are a walking temple of God, the odd thing is that unbelieving world can read us. 1 Corinthians 3:16-17.
Acts 26
Acts 26:19-23 This is now the second time that the apostle Paul has given his testimony to the governing authorities. Here in these moments of church history the apostle stands out as being the voice of the gospel. He explains his obedience to the call of God and states clearly that the opposition he faces is not because he is blasphemous toward God as the Jews say, but in fact; it is God who has kept him safe in order for him to present the gospel to Agrippa. The saints of God always see things in the light of God's direction. While the world is driven by the works of unbelief and the devil.
Acts 26:24-26 My, my, my... here is Festus again, the words he hears sound like those of a mad man. A governor who governs by the seat of his pants. Sort of reminds me of the politicians of today, taxes and governmental control is all they know. Thus they are purposely ignorant to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. They selfishly fill their own pockets and without shame empty ours. On the other hand, Agrippa is an unbeliever too, but he is a man of integrity and wisdom, he knows how to apply his knowledge and he makes sensible decisions.
Acts 26: 27-32 The moment of conviction arrives in the heart of Agrippa, his heart tells him that the apostle is speaking truth and Agrippa understands the gospel, his rejection is not based on ignorance. The king stands as do all who are with him, his desire is to free Paul. In conference with Festus the king is reminded that Paul has appealed to Caesar in Rome, so Agrippa has no choice now but to sent Paul to Rome. God protects His Saints, He could be sending you somewhere today. Are you ready...
