Take Notice #96

A Devotional Study of the Living Word of God
Psalm 119:76 Someone in my past has said that the promises of God are “Yes and Amen”. What they meant is that God's promises do not fail, nor will His promises ever melt quickly like a summer snow. The kindness of the LORD and the mercies of God are an ever present help... Always!
Good Morning
Good news, we all like good news and when bad news strikes it can lay us low. Mostly it is because many people are not prepared to hear “bad news”. We desire living in calm pleasant surroundings, if we are traveling we desire safe passage. If we go to the doctor we want to hear that the biological clock in our body is functioning okay. We look to the best of things and are not prepared to hear the worst. This is tragic error and can set us up for a permanent emotional revolt of mind and spirit (human emotion). Bad news should not be able to shatter hope, erode peace, place a limit on eternal life, quench or grieve the indwelling Holy Spirit or erase the power of the resurrection. So if you are saved by the grace of God, “All bad news is limited in strength” To know this and to live this is to be involved with the word of God. To convey this truth Jesus makes this statement. “For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.” Matthew 5:18 also see 1 Peter 1:25. So as long as heaven and earth exist there will be bad news, but the good news is that God has put a limit on this earthly condition we all face and the greater good news is that there is no limit to the joys of being in Christ. The process of our so great salvation should not be neglected during a bad news event of any kind. (Hebrews 2:3) Living this is biblically abiding in justification, sanctification and glorification. Saved people are daily equipped to handle all of life.
Acts 24
Acts 24:1-9 Ever been accused of “sedition?” On a national level the laws of this land are changing, we are told to be tolerant while the intolerance of injustice is shoved down our throat. The apostle Paul is witnessing this first hand here in these passages. What he did in Jerusalem for the truth and good of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is being twisted and distorted by a clever person who knows how to altar the facts. This is a very present reality in everyday life of most Americans. They take what you say and twist it slightly to discredit what we do as believers. The danger is that some believers practice this distortion too.
Acts 24:10-15 Religion is the best tool that Satan has to destroy the gospel of Jesus Christ. Most all of the opposition that falls upon a believer comes from religion. In fact; this is why the governments of the world or so against the movements of religion and the gospel. Separation of the the church and state is a battle line that if government can have it's way it can control people by socialism. In todays world we not only see this on a national level we see it world wide. The battles of today are the battles of Islam against the Jewish faith and Christianity.
Acts 24:16-21 No matter what happens in the future our effort should be the same as the apostle here. Verse 16, his desire is to have a clear conscience, without offense toward God and toward his fellow man. His intention to come to Jerusalem was only to do good by bringing much needed funds to his nation. The proof of Paul's intentions are open to the public eye, but when the public eye mixes religion and truth in the same boiling pot, the taste of the soup will be tainted with religious lies and this is crippling to the effort of furthering the gospel of Christ.
