Take Note #75

Psalm 119:55 My worship of you LORD is to keep your Name before me at all times, even in the season of nighttime I will keep your Law as one who finds great treasure. Proverbs 15:6

Good Morning

Take your eyes off the helm for a brief moment and much can happen that would be considered by the captain as a breach in the safety of the ship and crew. For example; submarines have been run over by surface ships because someone failed to keep their eyes and ears tuned in to the moment at hand. Drivers of automobiles have ran into other cars and pedestrians because they failed to keep an eye on the road ahead. Men and women have lost their families because they have failed to keep an eye on their conduct within the family realm of responsibility. We seem to be so busy watching the water flow past the ship; the red paint on a car going by or a critical eye on our spouse or children instead of keeping a watchful eye on our own actions. As a result we sometimes cause irreversible damage. I think that Jesus puts it this way. “Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother's eye.” Matthew 7:1-6 We tend to judge the sights and sounds of people, places and possessions with the blind eye of the mask we are hiding behind. The mask has a name called, “SELFISM” A religious system of selfish comfort that destroys the lives of others.

Acts 16

Acts 16:16 The oppression of demonic activity is something we do not talk about much. There are stern warnings in scripture to be aware of the enemy and there are stern warnings to be cautious in dealing with the enemy. In our world today we would not recognize this as much of a threat since we have become ignorant of demonic activity by suppressing the truth. Bottom line; pornography, abortion, drugs and alcohol, divorce and abusive conduct are all a direct result of demonic activity. To deny that is to say that God is a lier. (John 8:42-47).

Acts 16:17 We must remember though that being caught up in this activity for many months and saying that the devil made me do it is not the escape hatch to free us of our responsibility. Sin, iniquity and transgression carry the penalty of death on the person, not the devil. We can be paralyzed by demonic influence, our only escape is Jesus the Lamb of God; “son be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.” Matthew 9:2. But this truth does not give us the license to continue in sin. (Romans 6:1-3); and (Hebrews 10:26-29).

Acts 16:18 Should we not be like the apostle here in this verse, should we not be just a bit annoyed or distressed over the conditions of the people walking behind us saying, sleep with me, drink with me, eat with me, kill with me; etc; etc; etc; We need to in the power of God the Holy Spirit to turn around and stop looking the other way. Look the devil in the eye and rebuke him.
